Preschool Education
The pre-school education program of GCK is being implemented as a core activity to promote good health and nutrition of mothers and children, as well as creating environmental conditions for enhanced growth of psycho-social, cognitive and physical competencies during early childhood. This has been accomplished by ensuring that children in the project areas receive care and stimulation in group settings. A home-based intervention and direct training has been provided for communities with positive results as well. Balwari Centers have also played a crucial role in improving the pre-school program in the villages. These balwadi centers are functioning adequately thereby intensive training programs for the balwadi teachers wherein several workshops have expanded their understanding of child development and intensified their knowledge of innovative strategies to support it.
